Join us for an evening of Beer and Shakespeare

Choose Your Own Shakespeare at The Grog!
Pay-What-You-Will, November 4
13 Middle St., Newburyport MA

Did you know that Elizabethan actors would often have their first reading of a play at the tavern? Free candle light and good beer were a big draw! In that spirit, we’ll be touring restaurants and bars this November with our Bar(d) Crawl, and we're excited to play to our home crowd on the second floor of The Grog! Using cue scripts generated by our very own ‘Tis Your Cue, we’ll be allowing you to choose what Shakespeare play we perform, “scroll-in-hand”, each night.  At Bar(d), the audience calls the shots (sometimes literally), the actors get their cue scripts moments before curtain, and the next scene might just include you. Doors open at 6pm so you can find your seat and order some food before voting on the play you'd like to see, with the performance starting at 7pm. Seating is extremely limited, so reserve your pay-what-you-will ticket now!

Tickets are available at pay-what-you-will pricing because Theater in the Open believes that the arts must be accessible to all.  If you are unable to use your ticket please let us know so someone else can claim your spot!

Because we are performing on the second floor, we're sorry to say that this performance is not wheelchair accessible. Please join us at Throwback Brewery in North Hampton NH on November 5 if accessibility is a concern for your party!
